Futurismic is fantastic. After many hours of searching for quality science fiction on the web, I get it all, right here.
As much as I want. So glad for this site. Thanx!

oops, one correction- the warehouse district is actually a branch office of the Korean underworld. Been to Olympic and Alameda many times, those canny merchants saw the economic opportunity after the riots and renovated South Central big-time!

Well done! And here I innocently sat, my inner conservative beginning to roll his eyes at another lame indictment of "the establishment". More silly, defrauded "activists" as "heroes". The more I think about this story the more I like it.

I don't think I've ever seen a better illustration of the industry of memes- and why crass capitalism will continue to outperform the naive hypocrisy of "social revolution". Even had a few nicely cynical digs at Marxism's other competitor, carbon technology... which has delivered the prosperity that the church of socialism can only promise. No wonder Percy's jealous!!

Old-school realists like Takaguchi have forgotten tricks that these kids haven't even thought up yet. Experience does tell.

My favorite -
"We have whole precincts in South Central turning into Temporary Autonomous Zones. The only cops that’ll go there run their own rogue warlord operations... The warehouse district is a branch office of the Chinese underworld"
That sounds eerily prophetic. Mr. Nakashima-Brown, you have a very good understanding of this world. Many kudos.

I do love a surpise!

p.s.- I use Copy and paste for just about everything. It only takes seconds, for goodness' sake. Thank you Mr. Lyon for giving us this story for free.
