But my earliest memory of him was from the ancient TV series "Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World" from around the same time. i read a dog-eared old copy of “Islands in the Sky” when i was in the first year of Junior High school, and i guess Arthur C. was only in his 60s back then. i remember almost nothing about the story now, except that it left enough of an impression on me to start reading more SF.
