That was an absolute delight. I don't have much time to read on the internet so imagine my surprise when, having been unwittingly hooked to the rhythm of writing by the very first moment of the story, I found myself forty minutes later sitting back in my chair with a feeling not unlike sexual gratification!
That was a deeply rewarding experience to read, a piece of art one feels connected with and moved by on a level that speaks quite plainly of the authors painstaking love for his characters and the darkness of human conditioning and greed.
I felt bonded, hopeful, troubled, excited and tortured. This is beautiful art and the author has left me feeling like a thief having given nothing for such rewarding, talented work.
Thank you for sharing it.

This was really quite good Phil; original, believable and unexpected. I could not have predicted the ending.

One cannot help but wonder what would have happened if you had of devoted yourself full-time to writing from your youth, instead of spending all those years as a programmer and part-time writer.

Good luck to you in your future efforts.

This story's haunted me for seven and a half years. It's great to see it where more people can read it.

Loved it! The notion of a vocation/avocation balance is pure genius.
