Also many of Cascio's ideas are congruent with the thesis of <a href="http://tj-place.blogspot.com/2009/02/on-origin-of-wealth.html" rel="nofollow"><i>The Origin of Wealth</i></a> by Eric Beinhocker - which is a really excellent book. Beinhocker argues in favour of an "evolutionary" approach to technological and economic progress, rather than a centralised, hierarchial approach as has developed recently. Also I agree with the notion of a citizen's basic income. It’s an interesting point from Cascio: I’m already bored with the whole the credit crunch means you should agree with my politics attitude of the older ideologies.
