Nowadays, someone who believes these same things, not just about personal electronics/games, but about individual property rights overall and industry in general, is commonly called a "conservative" (or less-diplomatically, a "right-wing nutjob"). But I think these views are more properly called "classical liberal" or even "libertarian." And in that, you may be closer to my side of the political fence than I thought.
