“wonder what’s taking so long?” Excellent post. Here’s what’s taking so long – we haven’t been conceiving of it as an engineering problem. It’s a political problem (what can we talk people into and what system can be most easily manipulated) and most importantly, it’s a business problem (who stands to make the most money from forcing states into buying all new technology, who has what connections with whom and who’s been contributing the most money to politicians). Hmm, what if we started thinking about more things as engineering problems…
