i read a dog-eared old copy of “Islands in the Sky” when i was in the first year of Junior High school, and i guess Arthur C. was only in his 60s back then. i remember almost nothing about the story now, except that it left enough of an impression on me to start reading more SF. But my earliest memory of him was from the ancient TV series “Arthur C. Clarke’s Mysterious World” from around the same time.
