An experiment conducted with an anti-cancer drug demonstrated that cell division is, theoretically and in at least one set of unusual conditions practically, reversible. Cells that had already split actually recombined.

Stairs As Power Plants
An economy built on renewable energy will probably be made up of lots of little ways to save and generate power. For example, turning the vibrations caused by people climbing stairs into electricity. Not enough power there to get off the grid, but every little bit helps.
TED Is Podcasting
I’ve always wanted to go to the TED conference, but have never been either cool enough or wealthy enough to manage it. Now I can get the podcast and pretend I’m both.
Multi-Finger Action
It’s been a good year for 3D display technologies so far; here’s a demo video (embedded) of a ‘multi-digit 3D volumetric display‘ from some Toronto students. Looks a bit rough and ready so far, but hey, it’s a proof-of-concept, right?
Electronic Origami – Just Add Water
3D electronics are one of the current goals in the technology industries. But 3D objects take up a lot of space, especially in transport or storage situations where volume is money. So flatpacking is the answer – and what better way to avoid the need for complex instructions and tools at the assembly end than making circuits that fold themselves together when hot water is poured on them? The current implementation is simple, but it should scale down to nanotech sizes without too much trouble.
