Add to the list of territorial disputes that seem rather silly to an outsider this one: South Korea has threatened a “physical clash” if Japan continues a sea-floor survey near the disputed islands of Dokdo/Takeshima. Note that these islands are so small they can only be visited when the seas are low.

NK enjoys sabre-rattling a lot, but there is no way they would risk attacking Japan over something like these islands. The time to worry is when the naval branch of the JSDF operates in any joint exercises nearby NK.
South Korea army is well-equipped, and well trained. The South Korean army is about 500,000 strong compared to Japans 80,000 lightly equipped army. If South Korea ever attacked Japan or vice-versa South Korea would win to due it’s militarily superior forces and equipment. The war would last probably a few battles because U.N and China and U.S.A would step in. But With South Korea’s superior airforce,Navy,and ground forces would absolutely devastate the once powerful Japan .IF you check the books South Korea is just as advanced and developed as Japan , lagging in robotics, but electronics is equal, cars it’s equal, and cloning is Sk’s best. South Korea is the most powerful country in Asia for its size not North Korea; they are too poor and backwards to attack the advanced Koreans. Plus Japan was the most powerful country in Asia (WAS UNDERSTAND PEOPLE) plus China is like pretty much was Japan in 1938 militarily powerful but is still a developing country with no infrastructure get it!

6 Japan (by far the most advanced nation Asia in robotics but their army is a joke (THEY CAN MAKE TVS, But hey they can’t build a large navy or tank fleet) AKA America’s ASIAN COLONY LOL
PS INDIA Wasn’t INCLUDED BECAUSE THEY Aren’t Oriental but Id say they would be # 2.
SOUTH KOREA IS LIKE GERMANY SMALL WITH A POWERFUL ARMY AND A HUGE INFERIORITY COMPLEX.
JAPAN ISN’T POWERFUL ANYMORE THEY ARE LIKE THE FRENCH.

Some of these comments are astonishingly inaccurate. Japans air force and navy are much stronger than South Koreas so a land battle would not happen. The army of SK is much stronger than Japans but would not get to grips with it. China is getting to the stage of being a super power and will probably defeat and occupy the powerful Taiwan with 10 years throwing the world into some disarray, especially if Japan and the USA become involved. I don’t think it’ll happen and even if it did I think Japan will be no match to the South Korea. First we all know both US army are based both in korea and japan, however if there is a war and if US has to chose just one side i think they would hold Korea’s hand because for they have been i should say a father and son type of relationship between two countries over 50 long years.
