1. I just saw a PBS show about a guy bedazzling Humboldt Squids (about human-sized, deep-water squids) like this! They initially attacked his light box but then, when they discovered that it wasn’t an actual squid, were just very curious about it.

2. Yeah, I figure there are probably lots of reasons this plan wouldn’t work in real life, like “squids are too smart for it,” but I’m calling artistic license.
